The 4th annual Horicon Rock’n River Jam Queen Contest Contestants are announced. Cheryl Barlow, is the daughter of Lance and Kimberly Barlow, she is represented by the Kiwanis Club. Courtney Grabarkiewicz, daughter of Julie and Mike Greshay and Matt and Denise Grabarkiewicz. She is represented by the Horicon American Legion. Mikaela Higgins is represented by the Horicon Rotary Club; she is the daughter of Jeff and Nannette Higgins. These four young ladies will be competing for the crown at Discher Park in Horicon on Thursday June 17, at 7:00 pm. along with the Taste of Horicon that evening.
Master of ceremonies for 2010 will be Daniel Frey. Each contestant will be judged on poise, personality, appearance, Horicon Rock’n River Jam Raffle Ticket sales and the Lip Sync contest. The contestants will be picking out their own song for the Lip Sync, which seems to be the crowd’s favorite about the contest. The contestants will be selling raffle tickets around town and the surrounding areas, now until Wednesday June 16th. The raffle ticket has 100 great prizes, with the Grand Prize “John Deere X300” - JD Riding Lawn Tractor with a 42" mower deck. We are hoping with that and many other prizes that we will have a great support from the community in purchasing them. The young ladies will also be selling the tickets with a booklet on the night of the event. This booklet will have more information on the contestants and the program for the contest. If you haven’t seen the contest before or have not yet come down for the “Taste” this is a fun filled night to be at.
